Home staging boosts sales prices for Boston properties

Staging a home in Boston before listing could lead to a nearly $38,000 return on investment, according to a new study from home decor company Level Frames.

The study analyzed the 50 most populous cities in the United States using data from Zillow and the National Association of Realtors and identified the places where home sale values increased the most after staging.

Boston ranked 8th nationwide, just behind New York and several west coast cities like Los Angeles and San Diego. In the study, Boston homes fetched nearly $38,000 more after staging.

“Even seemingly minor design enhancements like neutral color schemes, modern furnishings, and curated wall decor can significantly elevate the look of your home and its buyer appeal if you’re planning to sell,” said Level Frames interior design expert Danielle Castagna. “In some of the country’s most competitive real estate markets, this additional appeal can mean tens of thousands of dollars more on your sale price.”
